What an Experience!

"We had the chance to spend 3 nights in that beautiful luxurious cabin in the jungle. You will feel just like at home with all you need to cook, take a hot shower and relax but...you're in the jungle surrounded by so much natural beauty and animals. This house is located in a great self sustainable area that will offer more and more services along the way. The hosts ! Anna & Barry are wonderful. Very lay back and down to earth they will provide to anything you need to make your stay more comfortable. Since we didn't have a ride to get there they were kind enough for a small fee to a pick-up and drop-off in San Ignacio as well as help us with our grocery and the local market for fresh veggies. They also offer a few tours which we took fully advantage off. The Tikal maya ruins day trip is a must as well as the Macal river tubing (half-day). Anna made sure we crossed the Guatemala border safely on our way to Tikal and was there to take us back to the house when we came back. She also made sure everything was alight with our car rental the day she drop us off to San Ignacio since we were now on our way to Hopkins. She would not leave until she was sure we were in good hands which was much appreciated. Very happy with our choice ! It made us discover another aspect of Belize other than the beaches."

Amazing Jungle Experience!

"Our stay here at the eco-village will be something we will never forget. While I began to question my choice on the 10.5 mile drive into the jungle, I was so relieved to find such a rare place upon arrival. Barry greeted us and showed us the beautiful home. It blew my mind that a home with such a luxurious feel could 1) be in the jungle and 2) be in an eco-village. We had everything we needed and more to do all of our cooking. Sitting on the patio at sunrise and sunset listening to the sounds of the jungle had to be a highlight for us. The birds made the craziest sounds and those howler monkey calls sent my eyes wide every time. The sound is something out of a horror film! (But in a fascinating way) I cannot express enough how lucky we were to meet Anna and Barry. Our personalities clicked right away and we actually spent a good deal of our time chatting with them. Barry's knowledge as he guided us through Xunantunich blew me away and Anna's compassion and hospitality were 2nd to none. We walked down to the river and floated across to the waterfall. So cool to have that in your backyard! Barry also set up our tour at ATM which was sooo fun! I am so glad I found this gem and would encourage anyone with an adventurous spirit to stay here. You will not be disappointed and you will leave with a wonderful one of a kind experience under your belt."

Awesome Jungle Home!

"This place kicked bum! The hosts were so helpful and friendly. We loved the cottage- it was peaceful and quiet, comfortable, had a sweet hammock and a great little charcoal grill. We loved every moment of its tranquility. The community is very cool. We were able to take our 4x4 down to the river and laze around. We forgot that if you cross the river and go into the little piece of river that connects to the Macal, that we could have exploded to find a waterfall. Add that to the list! Overall, excellent experience and have already been highly recommending it!"

Off The Grid Jungle Paradise!

"It was a lovely place in the heart of the rainforest. Be sure to go grocery shopping before you head out there. It is about an 11 mile drive on a extremely rough dirt road so no quick jaunts to the store for beer! 30-45 minute drive if you have good shocks on your rental. On a map, it looks very close to a lot of tourist attractions but it's kind of a process to get to them because the road systems out there are limited and you have to go around a lot of the rougher terrain in the area to get to them. It is a beautiful place in the mountains, close to the river and a gorgeous waterfall to swim in. Hiking was great but not for the faint of heart, there's some serious elevation changes. At times it sounded as if we were at Jurassic Park with all the howler monkeys! The cottage was beautiful and I highly recommend it if your looking for a romantic getaway in the mountainous jungle of Belize as long as you come prepared and understand that it is a fully sustainable village running off solar power and/or generators. Great place to go if you want to get off the grid and simplify things for awhile!"
